Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November this year. If you want gifts that stay out long after the diyas are packed away, crochet is a good place to start. Everything below is crocheted by hand, to order, by women artisans in our studio in Rohtak, Haryana, in soft acrylic baby wool yarn. The flowers never need water and never wilt, so a gift given this Diwali is still on the shelf next year.
Every idea here costs ₹1,500 or less.
When to order for Diwali
Nothing is made before you order it, so plan a little ahead. Hampers usually reach you 7 to 9 days after you order, and single pieces 5 to 7 days.
- Hampers: order by 27 October to have them in hand before Dhanteras on 6 November.
- Single pieces: order by 30 October.
Far-off pin codes can take a few days more. The delivery checker on every product page shows the dates for your pin code.

Caring for crochet gifts
Spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then lay flat to dry in the shade. Do not machine wash. For dust, a gentle shake or a soft brush is enough. Kept out of direct sun, the colours stay bright for years.
